I have been thinking all day of this Middle Eastern Restaurant that we went to in Chicago. Josh and I were enjoying Chili and Brown rice for lunch, when he so casually reminded of the rice we sampled there. It was fabulous: sweet and smooth and moist all at the same time. (Yes, I am still talking about Rice.)
I have not been able to get it out of my mind since. This launched me into a search on the Internet which turned out to not be a small fete.
I finally landed on it at Yelp.com. Thank God!
Zad Restaurant in the Lakeview area at 3112 N. Broadway Ave, Chicago, IL 60657.
The food was fantastic. It was our first experience the falafel which we have not quite been able to replicate. The chicken was succulent with a hint of cinnamon and other spices. And you've heard about the rice. We also had these deep fried bread with a meat filling. And vegetables. Oh yum.
It was delicious. The proof is in the pudding. As you can see, the generous portions mean only a half empty plate. Oh how I wish I lived in Chicago. I would have asked for a doggie bag.
La vie est grande! Now if I can only duplicate that rice recipe.

Old Jerusalem on Rush (I think?) is really good too. The shwarma is amazing!
